Penalties

Governments deal whit different types of violence therefore they have different sentences or penalties for the different acts of violence that citizens committed. Laws are not working because the government it’s afraid to implement news laws and harder sentences to the different acts that make our society worse. A clear example is the law for drunk drivers that were established a few months ago and most of the parties on the national assembly voted against it. Laws are made to have a better country but if we don’t support them that’s never going to happen.



There are many different ways of violence in our country, for example we have the domestic violence that is one of the most common ones, violence on the streets with the drunk drivers and also we have the violence that has always take part of our society the people that are drug dealers, robbers on the streets etc. There are laws but they are not as effective as they should be.


The domestic violence has always been part of our society, but in our country the penalties are not well established so aggressors take advantage of this and this is the reason why we see killings every day because laws are not working on favor of the need ones, on the news papers we see how this violence is growing and the laws are the same ones as 30 years ago.

Also we have the drunk drivers this is the new trend drunk drivers killing innocent people and getting away. A new law was established a while back, but the majority of the government representatives voted against the law because they thought it was too hard on the aggressors, what the representatives did was to send a message to the society saying it’s fine to drink and drive and if you injure someone you’ll get away with it.


Laws are a joke to our society; penalties should be harder for the aggressors, the government should take part on improving the laws and they should protect the innocent people that are being attacked. As citizens we most unite our voice so we can be heard and built a better society of peace.
